he company designs, manufactures and sells autonomous water vessels, and its primary target is to sell robotic ships that collect water quality data while collecting oil from harmful plastic pollutants, algae/biomass, and water. It is said to provide solutions for environmental measurements by cleaning the surfaces of waterways, canal systems, lakes, ponds, rivers, docks, and ports, as well as directly removing pollutants from inland and coastal waters, as well as by installing water quality sensors that can monitor the environment and composition of water.
It is designing and developing products in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, where the company is located, and has qualified for grants and grants worth about 2.7 million euros since 2016 in the Netherlands and other European countries, accelerating product development.
It currently has plans to improve existing ASCs (automatic surface vessels) and launch additional ASC 2 models in 2024, with one additional ASC to be launched by 2025.
The ASC model currently on sale is WasteShark, with 22 sales expected in 2022 and 32-36 expected in 2023.
Other Info
Currently, the risk factors for the company are as follows.
- It is difficult to assess future prospects because it is an early-stage company with a short operating history and relatively new business models in emerging markets.
- It recorded a net loss of 3,355,283 euros as of 2023 and there is a risk of disruption if additional funding fails to be secured.
- Since the development of the product, there was no financial resource for marketing, so it did not have sufficient sales performance.
- For commercial sales, the number of SasteShark ASVs sold was less than 100, which did not have enough operating history compared to existing companies.
